At the heart of urban renewal lies the balance between preservation and innovation.
LED brick lights, with their customizable properties, enable high integration through low-intervention approaches. They respect the original architectural character while enhancing a sense of place through thoughtful light and shadow design. This article presents two real-world cases demonstrating the innovative use of LED brick lights in urban renewal projects.
Wuhan Pocket Park
This pocket park in Qiaokou District, Wuhan, centers around water features to create a distinctive garden environment. The design incorporates vertical water curtains and interactive light installations, balancing tranquility with subtle movement. Complemented by a range of supporting activity facilities, the park serves as a daily source of enjoyment for local residents.
Along the edge of the large circular pond adjacent to the water curtain, a full loop of SHONE vehicular-grade LED floor tile has been installed. These tiles clearly define the circular outline while featuring dynamic lighting effects that enhance the park's vibrant atmosphere.
Shanghai Nanjing Road Century Plaza
The project is a public open space characterized by the pedestrian street of Nanjing Road in Shanghai. In 2023, Century Plaza was renewed and transformed into a "Pearl Kaleidoscope, City Ballroom", with the entire plaza designed to look like a shiny shell.
On both sides of the central axis boulevard of the square, SHONE
triangular LED brick light are paved, which emphasize the "catwalk" of the square (central axis boulevard) and at the same time, the lively and jumping triangular shape accentuates the lively and energetic atmosphere of the square.
