Tianhe Sports Center | Kapok Blossoms: A Tribute to the City's Spirit
A key sporting landmark in Guangzhou, Tianhe Sports Center has been a witness to major events—from the National Games to the Asian Games. Now, it hosts competitions again for the current Games, welcoming visitors with a renewed luminous environment.
Ahead of the 2010 Asian Games, the center underwent a major upgrade. Shone supplied custom-made LED floor tiles patterned after the kapok flower—the city symbol of Guangzhou—installed across the outdoor plaza to create a "blooming kapok" ground visual. Located near a dry fountain, the area experiences high humidity and heavy foot and vehicle traffic, demanding exceptional pressure and water resistance. Through specialized product design and precision installation, Shone's tiles delivered a sealed structure and high load-bearing performance, operating reliably in a challenging setting while uniting artistic appeal and practical function.

Phoenix Hill Sports Park | Olympic Rings: Embodying the Spirit of Sport
A key venue for the Universiade and the AFC Asian Cup, Phoenix Hill Sports Park has become a new icon in Chengdu with its integrated "one stadium, two halls, one center" layout. Its outdoor Five-Ring Plaza features custom-made Shone LED sector-shaped and special-shaped LED floor tiles arranged into giant Olympic rings, using light to reflect the Olympic spirit.
The five rings—blue, yellow, black, green, and red—gleam at night, creating a striking visual symbol. The interlocking assembly required extreme precision in both product shaping and installation. Shone delivered accurately calibrated sector-shaped and special-shaped tiles and carefully controlled the height differences between recessed boxes and fixtures to achieve a continuous and impressive lighting outcome.

Lanzhou Olympic Center | Blossoms of the Silk Road, Illuminated by Night
Designed around the concept of "Flying Flowers in Dance," Lanzhou Olympic Center—home to the Gansu Provincial Games—integrates local culture with architecture. Its five main venues resemble "Flowers of the Silk Road," reinforcing the city's identity. To match both the architectural form and lighting concept, Shone supplied a range of custom LED floor tiles including curved, special-shaped, cement-patterned, and stone-look types. These infused the project with a language of light that blends technology and art.
The pathway from the Rose Stadium to the Lotus Tennis Court is paved with concrete-effect and marble-patterned LED floor tiles. By day, they blend into the ground; by night, they form a dynamic colored light band connecting the two venues—functional yet aesthetic. The concrete-style tiles offer an IP68 waterproof rating, withstand loads exceeding 50 tons, and provide soft, even illumination—making them both vehicle-friendly and visually consistent day and night.
The plaza in front of the Lotus Tennis Court uses red, yellow, and green special-shaped tiles (curved, trapezoidal, triangular) arranged into a large floral pattern. This echoes the exterior color scheme of the tennis venue both day and night, reinforcing the lotus theme while enhancing recognition and artistic ambience.
