Using extruded aluminum profiles for the fixture body is key to ensuring long-term stability:
- Efficient Heat Dissipation: Aluminum's excellent thermal conductivity quickly draws heat away from the LED chips, which is essential for delaying lumen depreciation and extending lifespan.
- Reliable Strength: Adequate wall thickness and reinforced rib design resist long-term wind loads and minor impacts, preventing deformation.
- Surface Treatment: High-temperature electrostatic spraying provides stronger adhesion, more even coverage, and better UV resistance compared to standard paint.
- IP Rating (Dust & Water): For in-ground lighting such as pavers, IP67 is standard, while IP68 is recommended for prolonged immersion or high-pressure washing. Wall-mounted fixtures (wall washers, linear lights, LED floor tiles) start at IP65 for rain and splash resistance, with IP66/67 needed for harsher wet or dusty conditions. For floodlights, tight sealing between the lens and housing is crucial to prevent internal fogging.
- IK Rating (Impact Resistance): Fixtures in public areas may face accidental impact. Our products typically achieve IK06 or higher, meaning they can withstand common collisions without lens breakage or structural damage.
- Power Driver: We use industrial-grade, long-life drivers where high-temperature resistance (e.g., 105℃) of components such as capacitors is critical. Drivers also include over-voltage, over-current, and surge protection (typically ≥4 kV) to handle grid instability and lightning-induced currents.
- LED and Lumen Maintenance: We source LED chips from leading international brands and conduct rigorous performance and stress testing during design to ensure safe junction temperature control.
Durability doesn't mean "always on at full brightness." True efficiency and longevity come from:
- Higher Luminous Efficacy: Products with better efficacy deliver the same illumination with lower total power consumption and electricity costs.
- Flexible Dimming: Our products widely support DMX512 control, allowing automatic brightness reduction late at night—saving energy and extending fixture life.
- Precise Light Distribution: Thoughtful optical design ensures light goes exactly where needed, eliminating "sky glow" and inefficient spill. This reduces overall system power demand.
In 2023, the Light Park project experienced severe flooding after a heavy rainstorm. The in-ground luminous pavers were submerged for 1–2 days, yet after the water receded, they resumed normal operation without any damage. Three years on, Shone’s LED paver lights in this project continue to perform stably and reliably.
